The Borough of Crafton is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable community where every resident, visitor, and employee is treated with dignity and respect. Our commitment to civil rights extends across all aspects of municipal operations, from employment practices and service delivery to public participation and community engagement.
This comprehensive non-discrimination policy establishes our unwavering dedication to equal opportunity and fair treatment for all individuals, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. We recognize that true community strength comes from embracing diversity and ensuring that every person has meaningful access to the programs, services, and opportunities our Borough provides.
Our policy framework is built upon the foundation of federal civil rights legislation, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other applicable laws. However, our commitment goes beyond mere legal compliance – it reflects our core values of fairness, inclusion, and community service.
Through proactive accessibility measures, language assistance services, and robust grievance procedures, we strive to remove barriers and create pathways for full participation in civic life. This policy serves as both a promise to our community and a practical guide for Borough staff, contractors, and partners in upholding these essential principles.
We believe that when all community members can participate fully and equally in municipal life, our entire Borough benefits from the diverse perspectives, talents, and contributions of every resident.
