Qualifications:

Crafton Borough is seeking a Building and Code Officer to serve as the Borough's Building Code Official, Residential Building Inspector, and Zoning Code Officer. This role administers and enforces building, zoning, and fire codes with a strong customer-service focus—reviewing plans, conducting inspections, managing the rental inspection program, and helping property owners navigate reinvestment. There is potential to also serve as Fire Marshal with additional training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Certified Building Code Official and Certified Residential Building Inspector (PA Department of Labor and Industries)
- Experience with PA Uniform Construction Code (UCC) and Municipalities Planning Code (MPC)
- Valid PA driver's license
- 3+ years of experience as a local code official or similar role

Crafton Borough, a community of approximately 6,000 residents in Allegheny County, is seeking a Community and Economic Development Director to lead its economic development strategy, capital project coordination, grant administration, and resident communications. This management-level position plays a central role in the Borough's active period of neighborhood reinvestment and organizational modernization, managing developer and business relationships, serving as project manager for capital construction projects, and administering the Borough's grant portfolio from application through close-out.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, urban planning, economic development, business, communications, or a related field — or five or more years of comparable municipal or community development management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in economic development or community development, including sustained relationship management with developers, business owners, or funding partners.
- Experience managing grant-funded projects, including application preparation, compliance reporting, and reimbursement documentation.
- Experience coordinating capital construction projects or serving in an owner's representative capacity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce professional public-facing materials.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and competency with MS Office Suite.

Part-Time | $15.00/hour
Crafton Borough is accepting applications for a Part-Time Substitute Crossing Guard serving the Carlynton School District. Substitute crossing guards cover shifts for regularly scheduled guards who are unable to work, on an as-needed basis. The regular schedule consists of 4 hours per day (2 hours AM, 2 hours PM), for a maximum of 20 hours per week, and the position runs seasonally from August through June each year.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check.
- Must be able to pass a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Please note that part-time and seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits such as health insurance, retirement contributions, or paid time off.
